Twas the night before Christmas by J. Robb Montana

A new twist to a classic Christmas  poem by Clement Clarke Moore.   As a freelance science-writer   I thought it would be fitting to make a playful performance by Camilla. It's my attempt to share the work Camilla and NASA . "Twas The Night Before Christmas" now includes  the official mascot of NASA SDO Camilla.

Who is Camilla

Even though Camilla focus is on education and public outreach of NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory ( Little SDO), the little yellow rubber chicken interacts with it's Facebook followers encouraging them to share the solar effects of our sun. 

Camilla quote,"...While I do focus on the Sun and Space Weather, I also train to become an Astrochick and visit various NASA Centers and learn from so many people at NASA and other institutions..."

Twas the night before Chrismtas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

The Moon on the breast of the new Eclipse

Gave the lustre of dark red into the night

When, What To My Wondering Eyes Should Appear,

But A Large Ship, and something inside

With a little Yellow Chick, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be Camilla - the beloved Little SDO

More Rapid Than Eagles Her Coursers They Came,

And She Whistled, and Shouted, and Called Them By Name!

The Reindeer Were Stirring," Now Dasher! Now Dancer!

Now Prancer and Vixen!

On Comet! On Cupid! On Donner and Blitzen!

To The Top of The World, We Must Go!

Now Dash Away! Dash Away! Dash Away All!

When They Meet with An Obstacle, Mounted in the Sky

So Up To The House Top The Coursers They Flew

With a Ship full of Toys and The Little Yellow Chick - Camilla Too...

And Then, In A Twinkling, I Heard Someone Run 

The Prancing and Pawing Of Each Little Sun

As I Drew In My Head, As I Was Turning Around,

Down The Chimney Camilla Came A Bound.

Dressed All In Fur, From  Her Head to Her Foot,

Her Clothes Were All Tarnished With Ashes And Soot

And The Thought Occured, Where Had She Been,

It The Came Like A Flash, Camilla Must of Been At 

The Rim of The All Mighty Sun.

But Wait, It Was True, Camilla Had Someone Too.

He Was Chubby and Plump And Not Even Blue!

And I laughed When I Saw Him, His Belly Full As Jelly! 

Camilla Was Like An Aunta,She brought us Santa

They Filled All The Stockings Full of Food

Both in The Best Of Moods

And With That They Sprang With A Whistle

And Away They Flew Like The Down Of A Thistle.

But I heard Them Both," Ere They Flew Out of Sight,

"Happy Christmas To All, And To All A Good Night!"
